Soon I'll be working weekends on Sunday Night Football, so I spent last weekend on a sleeping car trip to Chicago. Visited Wrigley Field for the first time (The Cubbies won) and dined at the Berghoff, the oldest restaurant in town.
Coming home I enjoyed the largest room I've ever had on a sleeping car. It was large enough to do yoga in there. Big bathroom with shower, too.
Friday night on the dining car of the Lake Shore Limited I had dinner with a woman named Doris Roos who was taking her daughter to a private high school in Ohio. She was born in Namibia and is currently head of the Child Protection Unit for UNICEF in Guyana. It was fascinating to talk with them about Africa, Guyana and the 35(!) countries she's been to.
Net weekend I'm off to Los Angeles to cheer Amy on as she competes in a half marathon at Disneyland. Hey, I just got back from running 7 miles...maybe I could do this.
Whenever I go running, Larry, our doorman reminds me of the time a tenant went out for a run. A while later, 2 cops arrived and showed him a Polaroid picture. They said:"Do you know this guy?" He said: "Yeah, I know him." "He's my tenant." They said: "Not anymore he isn't...he's dead." I told Larry he should have gotten his Christmas tip in advance from that guy.
Enjoy some pictures from my weekend. Fenway's nice, but Wrigley has the best hot dogs.
Goodbye Forever.
